Lirone Speaks

Bio

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana until I was 8 years old when my family and I faced
Hurricane Katrina. I am proud to be one of the survivors of this horrific event. Our family was relocated
to Corpus Christi, Texas and it has truly been a blessing. I have been coming to the YMCA since I was 14
years old to work out for football and fell in love with the YMCA of the Coastal Bend. I joined the YMCA
Staff when I graduated from Moody High School in 2016. I have been working part time at the YMCA for
5 years in several departments including roles with the Front Desk, Childcare, Maintenance, and the
Sports Department and was recently promoted as the Sports and Outreach Director. I am currently
attending college at Del Mar to obtain my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology to coach young adults and
youth in football. Football is my passion and I feel as if it is my life’s calling.

In my free time, I work out avidly and I am a volunteer football coach for Smashmouth and the CC Youth
Football League. I have also volunteered for more than a year at Church Unlimited and I love leading
students to God. I love what I do and I love what the YMCA stands for as we help youth and adults! I am
honored and privileged to be serving so many at the YMCA of the Coastal Bend.
