Membership and Wellness Program Director

Job Description and Required Certifications:  Under the direction of the President / CEO, the Membership and Wellness Program Director is responsible for the administration and direction for the Membership and Wellness Departments. The Membership and Wellness Program Director’s key function is to promote the charitable mission of the YMCA of the Coastal Bend by building strong lasting relationships with members and their families, as well as employees. The Membership and Wellness Program Director must possess good organizational, communication and supervisory skills, and make relationship building a top priority at all times, as well as assure that programs exceed the goals and objectives of the YMCA of the Coastal Bend.  

In 2013 the YMCA of the Coastal Bend opened a 9,000/sqft addition to the original 70+ year old facility; the new section houses a new lobby, nursery and wellness center. The YMCA of the Coastal Bend will be developing a long term strategic plan; come be a part of a team that will be leading a Y into the future.

Know How:

  1. Bachelor’s degree exercise science, exercise physiology, community health, physical education or a related field, OR 5 years’ experience in managing Health and Wellness facilities, Membership facilities, equipment, marketing, budgeting and staff supervision.
  1. Three years successful experience in developing and implementing membership, health and wellness programs for various ages.
  2. Preference will be given to candidates with advance training and/or certifications from NCCA sanctioned organization in a related field, such as ACSM, NSCA, ACE, AFAA, or ISSA.
  3. Experience recruiting, training, and supervising staff and volunteers.
  4. Candidates must possess strong written and verbal presentation skills, and have outstanding abilities to engage with varied individuals within and outside the organization.
  5. Must be creative and demonstrate strong initiative.

Job Desc. – Membership and Wellness Program Director

Salary Information: $35,000-$40,000; full time, exempt position with benefits package

 

 

Sports Positions Available: Adult Sports Coordinator, and Adult Sports Site Supervisor

GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the guidance of the Program Director, your responsibility is to ensure the safety of all individuals in the YMCA leagues.  You must also ensure that all participants and parents are following rules and procedures in accordance to the YMCA league rules and Code of Conduct.

Job requirements: Experience in working with the public and member service, the Site Supervisor must be able to communicate effectively and show a level of maturity to handle all league issues.  Also, must be able to perform all physical duties necessary. All sports positions must keep certifications up to date (CPR/First Aid) during entirety of employment with YMCA of the Coastal Bend.

Sports/Miracle League Intern

Unpaid (Strictly Hour Based)

Job Description: Intern will work closely with the Youth, Adult, & Miracle League sports coordinators in inputting registration, scheduling practices & games, and creating game day fun.  Must be CPR certified. Must be available mostly weekdays. Come gain knowledgeable experience and be apart of the largest youth sports program in the Coastal Bend Area.

Personal Trainer

Job Description and Required Certifications: Primary responsibilities providing personal training and fitness expertise to YMCA members. Other responsibilities include teaching group fitness classes. Must possess current CPR and First Aid certifications. Must possess personal training certification; NASM certification is preferred.

Life GuardYMCA staff

Job Description and Required Certifications: Experience in working with the public and member service. The Life Guard must be able to communicate effectively and show a level of maturity to handle all aquatic issues. The Life Guard must keep current all certifications including but not limited to: Life guarding and CPR/First Aid. Lifeguards must keep enforce all rules and procedures in accordance to the YMCA Aquatics policy.

Salary Information: $8.25/ $9.25 (During summer); part-time
